First Trick: Two Card Monte

Effect: Magician places both black queens facedown on the spectator’s hand. When the spectator is asked which queens are which the spectator answers. After the answer the magician has the spectator flip the queens to show two red aces.

Set Up: Set the deck up as fallows:
Black queen TOP

Red Ace

Black queen

Rest of Deck

Red Ace BOTTOM

Materials Needed: Deck of Cards

Method:

1. Open up with your patter.

2. Single lift top card showing the first queen. Flip the card back over.

3. Hand the top card (first queen) face down to the spectator to hold.

4. Double lift top two cards showing the second queen. Flip the cards back over.

5. Hand the top card (first ace) face down to the spectator exchanging the card already in their hand (first queen) with the card in your hand (first ace).

6. While misdirecting with patter switch the card in your hand (first queen) with the bottom card (second ace).

7. Bring attention back to the card in your hand (second ace), which they think is the original first black card.

8. Put the card in you hand on top of the card that they have been holding (first ace) for the majority of the trick.

9. Reveal the cards any way you please.
